IBM Heron r3: Circuit layer operations per second
360,573 layers per second
Caveats
Preprint, not peer reviewed. Benchmark implementations are Metriq's own (metriq-gym) and may differ from vendor definitions. CLOPS definition and parameters differ from IBM's published CLOPS_h, so values are not directly comparable to IBM's figures. No per-device run date (overall data window Mar 2025 to Mar 2026).
- Set-up
- ibm_boston. N=100 qubits, L=100 layers, M=1000 circuits, S=100 shots, two-qubit gate cz; T_tot from start of first circuit to end of last (intended to exclude queueing).
- Method
- Metriq-gym CLOPS = L*M*S / T_tot, twirled mode (not IBM's CLOPS_h definition)

- results in the group “metriq gym”
